Roger was a man of many talents. You would never see him not working. Roger worked at the Medical Center Hospital in security, St. Michaels College security, Winooski Police and Fire Departments, Chittenden county Sheriffs Department, State of VT Department of Corrections and Chittenden Regional Correctional Facility from 1987 to 1997 as well as a Shelburne Museum trolley driver, a driver with Yellow Cab and a floorman for Wake Robin in Shelburne in his later years. Roger was a lifelong member of the Eagles in Jeffersonville. A member of the Green Mt. Airies and Milton Horseshoe Club. Roger never sat still for long; he always had to stay busy. In later years he and his wife Sharon would travel each fall to their winter home in Zephyr Hills FL. It was here that Roger enjoyed life, playing horseshoes, working around the grounds in the park, telling jokes and just making people smile. When time to come home came around Roger was ready, Vermont was still home. Roger had a love for all things, but mostly horseshoes and NASCAR racing. On any given weekend you would find Roger throwing shoes into the pit or watching a race on TV. Roger’s love for racing was such that he became a NASCAR official and could be found on the race tracks at Catamount, Thunder Road and many other places in his younger years, his love for racing was immense. There were not many times when you would find Roger doing nothing, he was always busy. He loved to detail cars and had a small following of people who he would wash and wax their cars to a mirror shine. Roger loved making people smile and would go out of his way to offer a hand to anyone that needed it. He loved life, his grandchildren, family and friends. We the family would like to thank the staff at "Our Lady of the meadows staff for their time and caring of Roger.
