Roy L. Dykeman Williston Roy Louis Dykeman, 86, passed away on Tuesday December 2, 2014 at Green Mountain Nursing Home in Colchester. Roy was born on September 7, 1928 in Stanfordville, NY son of the late Roy and Edith (Cookingham) Dykeman. Roy was proud to have served in the US Marine Corp during the Korean Conflict. He married the former Carolyn Donlon on September 12, 1948 in Stanfordville New York. Roy had been employed for numerous years with IBM and was extremely proud of his career with such a great company. He started with IBM as someone who painted typewriters for the company and ended as a 3rd level Manager at his retirement. Roy loved to play golf, hunt, fish, shoot skeet and spend time with his family. He will be truly missed by all those who knew and loved him. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years Carolyn (Donlon) Dykeman of Williston; his daughter Kathleen Goodale and husband Lee of Burlington; two grandsons Brian Goodale and wife Tracy and their children Gavin and Mackenzie all of Colchester; Bradley Goodale and Mindy Vincent and children Riley, Kyle, and Connor all of Barre; several nieces, nephews and his two feline companions “Abbey” and “Andy”. He was also predeceased by his brother Charles. A graveside service with committal will be held in the Spring. Memorial contributions in Roy’s memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association, Vermont Affiliate, Inc., 77 Hegman Ave. Colchester, VT 05446.
