Sally Taylor Obituary

Sally Jean Taylor, 60, of Essex Junction passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends at the Vermont Respite House after a long courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Swanton, VT on February 7th, 1956, daughter of Barbara J. Taylor (Lucier) of Winooski and Kenneth R. Taylor of Plattsburg, NY. As a young woman, she was very athletic and active. She loved to play sports as well as travel. Sally loved to enjoy life with family and friends as often as possible by attending social gatherings or evenings out with friends. She was a strong single mother that took on life head-on, but above all she loved to be a Nana to her only grandchild Jaylee, she cherished every moment she had with her. Some of her greatest passions were music, arts and crafts, reading and flowers whether she was gardening or making flower arrangements. She enjoyed being outside as much as she could and she especially loved spending the day at the beach. She was quite the character and had a one of a kind personality who loved to talk. One of her biggest staples she will be remembered by was her choice of clothes – colorful, sequins, sparkly and just plain fun. Her friendliness, quirkiness and laugh was a huge part of her heart and soul. Her inspiring presence will be greatly missed by all that were lucky enough to have known her. She is survived by her sisters, Kathy Lemnah of Florida, and Susan Casey of Florida, brother Robert Taylor of Burlington, and the most beloved of all a daughter and granddaughter, Ashley Taylor and Jaylee Otero of Burlington, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Vermont Respite House in Sally’s memory. A celebration of Sally’s life will be held at the RVA, 84 Weaver St. Winooski, on Saturday April 16th from 1-4pm. The family would like everyone to wear something fun and festive in her honor if you so choose. Burial to be announced at a later date.
