Sherwood C. Carbee Essex Jct. Sherwood Charles Carbee, 71, passed away on Friday October 8, 2010 in South Burlington Vermont. He was born in Woodsville NH on May 12, 1939 son of the late I. Ladd and Frances (Reed) Carbee. He was married to the former Marcia May Jackson on January 25, 1963, and they made their home in White River Jct. On November 12, 1983 he married the former Patricia Burrington. They started their lives together in Barre Vermont, moved to North Wales PA in 1999 and back to Vermont in 2006 where they made their home in Essex Junction. Sherwood was a devoted family man; to him it was always – family first. He loved watching the sunrise on the coast of Maine and enjoyed the sunset at his cottage on the shores of Lake Champlain. Sherwood had a zest for life and was well known for his love of a good party. He loved tending bar and creating many Happy Hours for his family and friends. Career focused Sherwood was the Sales Manager for Capital Candy Company until his early retirement in 1999. He loved opening new accounts, setting stores, and mentoring his young team of sales people. He often shared his “on the road stories” and boasted of how he had traveled every road in Vermont and New Hampshire. Sherwood will be greatly missed by all those whose lives he touched in so many positive ways. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Patricia Carbee, of Essex Jct.; Two sons: Douglas Dulac and wife Rose of Windsor; Keith Paxman and wife Julia of Warren; Two daughters: Sherri Gilmore and her husband David of Barre; Kyle Paxman of Cardiff by the Sea, CA; Four grandchildren: Danielle Dulac; Nicole Dulac; McKenna Paxman; Kellen Paxman; Two brothers: David Carbee and wife Becky of Wilder; Peter Carbee and wife Verna of Washington; Mother-in-Law Winifred Burrington of Burlington; Sisters and brothers-in-laws: Kathleen Tucker of Salem, NH; Jeanne Hommel and husband Peter of Barre; Barbara Burrington and husband David Desautels of North Hero; Norman Burrington and wife Laurie of Burlington; Stephen Burrington and wife Michelle of Swanton; Thomas Burrington and wife Diane of Barre; Many nieces, nephews and cousins; A faithful companion, his dog “Ernie”. He is also predeceased by brother-in-laws Edward Burrington and Richard Tucker. Visiting hours will be held at A. W. Rich Funeral Home – Essex Chapel on Tuesday October 12, 2010 from 2:00 until the time of service at 4:00 p.m. Inurnment will be held on Sunday October 17, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the family lot in the East Burke Cemetery, Burke, VT.
