Fairfax Susan Ann (Valyou) Gray, 58, passed away on October 21, 2019 in Fairfax. She was born on May 17, 1961, daughter of the late Lester and Betty (Duby) Valyou. Sue graduated from Mount Mansfield Union High School class of 1979. She worked at Grand Union / Price Chopper in Essex Center for many years rotating through several departments including produce and seafood. Sue loved the outdoors, especially the ocean and full moons. She loved her flowers, mostly the lilacs and would visit many nature paths in the area often. Her family was her life, her children, grandchildren, siblings and friends. Sue gave so much love to everyone and will always be remembered for her smile, hugs and the way she would snort when she laughed really hard. Susan is survived by her loving partner Tom Parker of Fairfax, her son Donald Gray, a sister-in-law Carolyn Gray, step-son Andrew Lewis Gray I of St. Albans, step-daughter Heather Marie Gray, brother Dan Valyou and wife Mary, 3 sisters, Rosemarie McClafferty and husband Patrick, Kathy Carew and husband Jim, Patty Fagnant and husband Tim, her two grandchildren Luis Gray, Will Gray, Andrew Gray and Mandi Gray, great grandchildren Jack Harshbarger and Olivia Borden along with many nieces and nephews. She will be missed by her many friends. She was also predeceased by her husband Alan Lewis Gray, two brothers William and Robert Valyou. Visiting hours will be held Monday October 28, 2019 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at A W Rich Funeral Home – Fairfax Chapel. Inurnment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
