Tawnya Stowell

Tawnya A. (Pooler) Stowell Burlington Tawnya Andrea (Pooler) Stowell, 51, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday April 10, 2012. She was born in Burlington, VT on August 15, 1960 daughter of the late Rodney and Barbara (Milizia) Pooler. Tawnya was a loving mother to her children and a devoted wife to her husband David. Tawnya grew up in So. Burlington and attended school there where she had many friends. She loved fishing with her husband, going to bingo, country music and spending time with her family and friends. Tawnya was a free spirit who lived her life on her own terms, said what she meant and did what she needed to do to take care of her family. She became the neighborhood mom wherever she took up residence. Her door was always open to anyone who needed a kind word, a shoulder to lean on, a place to stay or a warm meal. She had a generous spirit and a huge heart. Tawnya was a true Christian. She believed in “love thy neighbor”, as much as she believed in the Lord. Tawnya didn’t measure success in life as most do with educational degrees or corporate conquests. She once said “To me my greatest accomplishments are my kids and my marriage to David”. Simply put Tawnya was a good soul put here for the benefit of those who came to know and love her. To demonstrate that true acts of kindness are what loving one another is all about. She will be dearly missed by all she touched in her short life. She is survived by her husband David Stowell; a son Broderick Bessette, two daughters Tamara Murray and Thomas Gaudette, Tameka Stowell all of Burlington. Her sister Debra Courtemanche and husband Joseph of South Burlington; two brothers-in-law Wayne Stowell of Milton; William Stowell of Hinesburg, sister-in-law Betty Stowell of Burlington; two nephews: Christopher Ballard and wife Debrakay of South Burlington; William C. Stowell of Binghamton, NY; grand niece: Cailie Ballard of South Burlington and an expected Grandson in July Thomas Colby. A memorial service will be held at Living Hope Christian Church, South Brownell Road, Williston on Monday April 16, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Steven Maxfield officiating. A reception will follow in the Church Fellowship Hall. Inurnment will be private and at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions in Tawnya’s memory may be made to Debra A. Courtemanche, P.O. Box 4483 Burlington, VT 05406 to assist the family. The family invites you view further information and share your memories by visiting www.awrichfuneralhomes.com.
