Thekla Lesure Fairfax, Vermont Obituary

Thekla Lesure

Thekla Maria Lesure, 63, of Waterville, passed away on Monday, July 31, 2017 at the McClure Miller Respite House in Colchester. She was born on July 27, 1954 in Bridgeport, CT daughter of the late Marion Ayer. Thekla worked 17 years as office manager at A.J. Ski shop in Stowe but left there and found her purpose in life as Grandmother (“Titi”) to her granddaughter, Madison, and then to grandson Kye three years later. Her grandchildren were the light of her life and helped her tremendously during her two and a half year battle with ovarian cancer. She was an avid exerciser: running, biking, weight training, snow shoeing, and hiking the Greens, Whites, and Adirondacks was her most favorite activity of all. She had a smile that would light up the room and a laugh of pure joy. Thekla is survived by her loving husband of 44 years Larry Lesure of Waterville, her son Adam Lesure wife Keri-Anne and their children Kye and Madison of Jeffersonville, her sister Michelle Morgan and husband Ben of Maine, two nieces and her loving fur babies Harley, Riley and Bailey. Visiting hours will be held on Friday August, 4, 2017 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at A W Rich Funeral Home – Fairfax Chapel, 1176 Main Street, Fairfax, VT 05454. Funeral services will be held on Saturday August 5, 2017 at 2:30 p.m. at United Church of Fairfax with Reverend Katherine Arthaud officiating. Inurnment will be private and at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations may be made in Thekla’s memory to Lamoille Area Cancer Network, P.O. Box 38, Lake Elmore, VT 05657 or Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, (www.dana-farber.org) P.O. Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284-9168.
