Thomas M. Jarvis South Burlington/Yuma, AZ Thomas Michael Jarvis, 61 passed away on Tuesday December 20, 2011 at Yuma Regional Medical Center, in Yuma AZ with “Grandma Fred” by his side. He was born on January 12, 1950 in St. Albans, VT son of Denise (Lauzon) Brooks and the late Joseph Jarvis. He was proud to have served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He began his retirement after thirty years at IBM in 2003. He loved his freedom, travelling, soaking up the sunshine, and doing a kind deed for those around him. Beneath Tom’s tough, strong, and proud outward demeanor laid a warm loving son, husband, father, uncle, grandfather, and friend known to all simply as “Papa”. He is survived by: his mother Denise (Lauzon) Brooks of St, Albans/Yuma,AZ; Four sons Thomas M. Jarvis II and fiancé Julie King of Highgate; Joel Jarvis and wife Rachel of Highgate; James “Slick” Nye of South Burlington; Benjamin Nye of South Burlington; His daughter Kristen Masse and husband Ken of St. Albans; Grandchildren Alyssa; Katie; Ashlyn; Meagan; Brook; Brianna; Trey; Kaleb; Matthew; Merissa, His brother David Jarvis and wife Theresa “Terry” of Essex Jct.; Four sisters Theresa “Sister” Reynolds and husband Richard of West Swanton; Diane “Dee” Benoit and husband Gary of Yorktown, VA; Renee Jarvis of Swanton; Laurie Jarvis of Essex Jct.; as well as many treasured nieces and nephews; His wife Yvonne “Eva” (Hallock) Jarvis of South Burlington; His former wife Karen (Ledoux) Jarvis of Swanton; He was also predeceased by his sister Linda Teague and his dear Uncle Hank Lauzon. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday December 29, 2011 from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. and funeral following at 6:00pm at Kidder Memorial Home, 89 Grand Ave., Swanton. Inurnment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
