Wendy Carter Obituary

Wendy Louise (Therrien) Carter, 54 of Newport passed away peacefully on August 11,2017 at her home surrounded by her family. Wendy was born on July 13,1963 in Newport to Andre and Wilma (Sargent) Therrien. She married Michael Carter on May 15, 1999, who survives her. Wendy is also survived by her children Heather Matten, Justin Matten and wife Nicole,Brianna Matten Carter, John Carter and wife Christine, Jennifer Stephenson and husband Rob. Her grandchildren Jaymen, Nathaniel, Brooklynne, Alexandra, Jordyn, Aspen, Lilly, Brandon, Bailey, Bryce, Briley, Madison and Peyton. Her brothers and sister, Mark Therrien, Kevin Therrien and wife Jana, Craig Therrien and wife Stacey, Rebecca Therrien, several aunts and unlces and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her granddaughter Kaylynne Matten, her grandparents Hugh and Louise Sargent and Leo and Simone Therrien. After graduating from North Country High School in 1981 Wendy started her family. Her biggest joy in life was spending time with her family. Whether it was vacationing in Maine, snowmobiling, four- wheeling, fishing, hunting, boating or spending time at the family sugar house. She was always active with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening, canning, crocheting, baking, and spending time with her Hoagie's family that she shared the last 16 years with, especially her best friend Rita Wheeler. Wendy brought so much love and joy to all that knew her but most of all her husband Michael. A heartfelt thank you to the Newport Ambulance for bringing Wendy home from Boston, Hospice for making it possible for her to be home, the Halo Foundation for all the help along the way and most of all the family support in honoring her last wish to be home during her final days. Friends and family are invited to join in a Celebration of Life at her home 399 Clyde Street in Newport on Monday August 21st at 11:00 am with Father Baker officiating.
