Doris Amstein, 95, of Winooski passed away on June 8, 2015 surrounded by family and friends. Services will be held Saturday August 29, 2015 at 10:30 am at LaVigne Funeral Home 132 Main St. Winooski. Online condolences can be left for the family at lavignefuneralhome.com DORIS AMSTEIN WINOOSKI - Doris Amstein, 95, passed away on June 8, 2015, surrounded by family and friends. Doris was born on April 29, 1920. She married Al Amstein on Oct. 23, 1943. They raised four children, John, Michael, Jim and Rita, in Wells River. Doris worked for Wells River Paper Company for several years. After moving to Winooski, Doris was employed by GE in Burlington. Her passion for bowling led to many close friendships which she enjoyed up to her death. Along with her children, she leaves five grand- children and eight greatgrandchildren; and special friend, Corey Sweeney, whom Doris considered a son. Corey could always be counted on to care, help and guide. She was predeceased by her husband, Al; and son, Michael. Services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the care and direction of the LaVigne Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
