Obituary
June Mercier Lynch, age 82, long-time resident of North Hero, VT, passed away on the morning
of June 9th at Starr Farm Nursing Center. Born May 31, 1934, she was the daughter of Robert
and Leona (Fortier) Mercier. She was predeceased by her parents; her beloved husband of 52
years, Timothy Michael Lynch; a daughter, Karen Jean Lynch; and a son, Brian Michael Lynch.
She is survived by her daughter, Robin Kenyon and husband Douglas of North Hero, VT; two
sons, Todd Lynch and Jason Lynch; her very dear sister, Sandra Hanley and brother-in-law, Jim
of Burlington, VT; several grandchildren; great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and her many friends.
She was employed for many years as a bookkeeper and in Real Estate.
June’s most recent years will be remembered by so many for her beautiful craft talent. For
years, she crafted hand-cut and pierced lampshades out of her home and shop in North Hero,
VT, known as “The Granary,” which was her pride. Her shop was visited by many from all over
the U.S. and her work was well-known. Later, she added basket-weaving and “Islands Baskets”
was again known to many for her beautiful work. Her talent was never limited. She was a true
crafter, her work being displayed at many craft shows and local Farmers’ Markets. She was a
member of Vermont Hand Crafters, a juried craft organization in Vermont.
June was loving, kind, and with a gentle demeanor was a strength to her family and all who
knew her. She was loved by so many and will be remembered for her kindness and love of
family.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday June 16 at 11am at LaVigne Funeral Home and
Cremation Service, Winooski. A private graveside service will be held at Hyde Cemetery at the
family’s convenience.
