Lillian Stella Raymond Winooski, Vermont Obituary

Lillian Stella Raymond

Lillian S Raymond, 79, of Winooski passed away Thursday, September 10 at the Vermont Respite House. Lillian was the daughter of Lester and Gertrude ( Allen) Fleming. She was born and raised in Panton. She excelled in school, graduating from Vergennes High School and heading off to Albany Business College. After returning, she married Frederick Raymond Jr and they moved to Winooski where she remained. Lillian worked at Vt. Dept of Health for 42 years, before retiring in 2000. Upon her retirement she was diagnosed with Macular Degeneration, which brought her to the Blind Association where she became known and loved for her feisty attitude and mud bars. Her greatest joy was time spent with her loving children and grandchildren. You could feel her love in every room! Her smile and laughter are ones you can never forget! Then there was her unique sense of humor and that one of a kind voice. Family meant the world to her and if she liked you, you became a branch in her family. She had so much love to give! She leaves her children: Lourie and Danny Parot, Fredrick (Rick) and Debbie Raymond, Robin Smith and Jeremy and Emily Raymond. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, Jennifer (Rick) Villamil, Stephanie (Greg) Stopera, Katelyn and Bethany (Forest) Raymond, Jessica, Andrew, Richard and Matthew Smith, David, Madison and Samual Raymond and Emily Lavigne. Her great grandchildren, Kaleb Raymond Cotten, Anna, RJ and Sawyer Villamil, Brynn and Avery Stopera and Kaitlin Schifilletti. She also left a very large extended family. She was predeceased by daughter Jackie Spaulding, grandson, Shannon Parot, and her life long partner Fred Raymond Jr.. She was loved by all that knew her, and she returned that love graciously. She is at peace now with no pain. In her loving words, "She is gone, let's party!" At her request, there will be no visiting hours or service. We will hold a gathering of remembrance, tears, laughter and chocolate at a later date when all of her loved ones are back on the same continent. A very special thanks to Jan Watt, providers Ann Goering and Janet Ely and the awesome staff at VHR. Donations may be made in her memory to The Vermont Respite House. Arrangements are under the care and direction of LaVigne Funeral Home and Cremation Service. Condolences may be shared with the family at www.lavignefuneralhome.com
