<p>Reginald A. Martin, 80, a lifelong resident of Burlington, VT, passed away peacefully to join his wife in Heaven on Thursday, November 19th, at Franklin County Rehab Center in St. Albans, VT. Reginald was born on October 7, 1935 and attended Burlington High School. He joined the U.S. Army and went to Iceland for basic training where he received his hearing injury and so was honorably discharged. On September 24th, 1966 he married his wife, Mariette (Bouchard) Martin. He worked at the Lane Press on Pine Street in Burlington for many years. He then worked at the University of Vermont in the groundskeeper department for the rest of his employment. When he retired, he spent time volunteering for the Burlington Senior Center in the kitchen and playing cribbage with the folks there. In his younger days, he enjoyed fishing and hunting. He loved to work on vehicles, build anything with his hands, eat home cooked meals and apple pie. He also loved to play cards and cribbage, watch sports on television and go to every home VT Expos game. He was a quiet, giving, gentle man with a sweet, subtle sense of humor that made people smile.</p><p><br></p><p>He was very devoted to his family and will be missed greatly by his survivors: daughter, Jeanne Obenland and husband David, their children Amanda and Jonathan of Damascus, MD; daughter Ann-Marie Fellows and husband Paul, their children Savannah, Alicia and Luke of Highgate Springs, VT; sister Annette Hamlin and husband Paul of Middlebury, VT, sister Carlene Landry and husband David of Colchester, VT, brother Joseph Martin of Florida, as well as many nieces, nephews,in-laws, extended family and friends. He is predeceased by his parents Joseph C. and Madeline (Provost) Martin, brother Robert Martin and sister Joyce (Martin) Marsch.</p><p><br></p><p>Visitation will be on Monday, November 23rd, 2015 from 7 to 9 pm. at LaVigne Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 123 Main St., Winooski, VT. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 24th at 11 a.m., at Christ the King Catholic Church, 136 Locust St., Burlington, VT with Fr. Julian Asucan as celebrant. Internment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery Annex on Pomeroy Street in Burlington. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Disabled American Veterans. Condolences may be shared with the family at www.lavignefuneralhome.com</p>
