Theresa Ticehurst

Theresa J Ticehurst, 92, a longtime resident of Colchester, passed away peacefully Monday, November 4th 2019, at McClure Miller Respite House in Colchester. She was born in Burlington, on April 4, 1927, the daughter of Alcee Rocheleau and Jeanne [Lestage] Jordan. She married Alfred L Ticehurst Jr in St. Francis Xavier Church, Winooski, on March 28, 1946. Theresa was employed by Essex Manufacturing Sewing shop for 22 years making children’s clothes. She continued her love of sewing throughout her entire life, creating, designing and sewing for friends and family. Theresa and Alfred traveled together many years, all throughout the country with friends, enjoying Annual Reunions for the USS Missouri as members of The American Battleship Association. She was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Alfred Ticehurst and her son Richard Ticehurst She is survived by Daughter Karen Ticehurst and husband David Stone and Richard’s wife Joyce Ticehurst all of Colchester; three grandchildren Ricky Ticehurst and wife Margie, Jennifer and husband Anthony Watson and Daniel Ticehurst, as well as many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was survived by one sister Rita Crehan of Charlotte, North Carolina and predeceased by one sister Jeanine Wascom of Killeen, Texas. She was predeceased by Brother in Law James J Ticehurst, of Winooski VT. The Ticehurst Family would like to extend their special thanks to the staff at the McClure Miller Respite House for the care and kindness shown to Theresa. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Monday November 11 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Colchester. Visitation will be from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM Sunday November 10 at LaVigne Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Winooski. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to McClure Miller Respite House, 3113 Roosevelt Highway, Colchester, VT 05446
