Obituary “We had our cup of sorrow, We’ve drunk our cup of Joy. But memory is a gift that death can not destroy.” Ben Jones, affectionately known as “Shorty”, was born on November 15, 1929 in Hastings, Florida. He was the only child of the late Zell Jones and Annie Randell. Ben was called to his eternal rest on August 21, 2019 at his home in Oak Hall, Virginia. Ben received his formal education in the public school system of Hastings, Florida. Ben played an important role in helping to raise all of Mary’s children and they referred to him as “Uncle Ben”. Ben accepted Christ as his personal savior and lived that role to the fullest. Ben leaves to cherish his memories, a loving friend, Alenea Brown of Oak Hall, Virginia; his devoted caretaker Mary Pinkard of Oak Hall, Virginia; his god nephews and nieces, Tommy Brown of Temperanceville, Virginia, Jermaine Brown of Princess Anne, Maryland, Maurice (Caprice) Pinkard, of Trainer, Pennsylvania, Deandria Brown of Oak Hall, Virginia and a host of other family and Friends.
