Charles Sample

Charles Sinclair Sample Sr. Age 76, born in Exmore , Virginia departed this life Sunday morning Feb 2, 2020 in Heritage Hall Nassawdox, Virginia . Son the late Clifton P. Sample, and Martha H. Sample. Charles attended Northampton County public schools, where he was very interested in playing basketball. Perhaps that’s why he later became a basketball coach. He graduated form Northampton County High School , Class of 62. He was a faithful member of the Northampton Co. Hi School Alumni Assoc., Inc. And loved the school reunions. Charles accepted Christ at an early age and joined new Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. Where he was a deacon, and an active member until his death. Charles had a very angelic voice, and enjoyed singing. He sung with the Morris Singers, The J.L. Smith Choir, and New Mt Calvary Male chorus. Charles loved people and would go out of his way to help whenever he could. He has a way to make people laugh, and fell comfortable . One of his favorite things to do was to meet the guys at Hardy’s each morning . They are know as the Hardy bunch AKA. The Old Geezers club. Charles is survived by his wife, Margaret Brisco Sample; his children, Sheila (Quinton) Wheeler, Todd (Yolanda) Sample, Angela (Nic) Jarecki, Walter H. McClendon and Anthony (Nicole) McClendon; two sisters, Shirley (Larry) Jordan and Nina Sells; three brothers, Conoway Sample, Alfredo (Bessie) Sample, and Anthony (Karen) Sample; two adopted brothers Ernest (Jackie) James and Cleveland (Alice) Jones; 4 grandchildren; 11 step-grandchildren; 1great grandchild; special nieces, and nephews, sisters-in-law, Susie Battle, Ann (Ben) Gray, and Fannie Carter; brothers-in-law Manchester (Jackie) Brisco, and Reginald (Gladys) Brisco. We will always remember Charles with those bright beautiful eyes and that happy smile. He will be Missed. SORROWFULLY SUBMITTED, THE FAMILY
