Montrue Floyd Anderson Obituary

Montrue Floyd Anderson was born on January 2, 1943 to the late Albert Floyd and Ella Chandler Floyd. She peacefully departed this life on Saturday, January 30, 2021 in Parksley, Virginia at the home of her daughter. She was seventy-eight (78) years old. “Monty”, as she was so fondly known to family and friends, was educated in the public schools of Accomack County and graduated from Mary N. Smith High School. After graduation, she moved to Baltimore, Maryland and later moved to New York. Feeling the need to affirm her destiny, Monty settled in Connecticut and became a licensed Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) with New England Healthcare for over thirty-five (35) years. After retirement, she moved back to the Eastern Shore in 2009 where she was a resident at Accomack Manor. Monty gave her life to Christ at an early age and became a member of Grace Mary Tabernacle in Melfa, Virginia. Later in life, she became a member of Metompkin Baptist Church in Parksley, Virginia and most recently was a devoted and faithful member of Living Word Church of Deliverance until her health began to fail. Throughout her life, Monty was always fashionably dressed. Everything was color-coordinated and had to match. Even in her casual wear, she was always sharp! Her favorite pastime was shopping and she loved to travel. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially her sisters. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Juanita Hines, her brothers, Albert Floyd and William “Bill” Floyd, and a nephew, Sebastian Floyd. Monty leaves fond and cherished memories with: her only daughter, Brenette Hinmon of Parksley, Virginia; granddaughters Ebonne Tate of Pocomoke City, Maryland and Brenae Tate of Newport News, Virginia; great-granddaughter, Makenna Boyd of Pocomoke City, Maryland; sisters, Valicetine Floyd and Esther Floyd, both of Parksley, Virginia; brother, Elder Wilbert (CeCe) Floyd of Richmond, Virginia; special friend, Lenwood Byrd and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Lovingly Submitted, The Family
