James Ray Jacobs Obituary

James Ray (Buddy) Jacobs, 57, passed away on October 21, 2020. He was born on November 12, 1962 to the late Raeford Jacobs and Ola Gray Jacobs. Buddy was a Chesapeake native. He graduated from Indian River High School in 1981 and went on to make a career as a pipefitter. Buddy loved hunting, fishing, listening to country music and just being outdoors. In his younger years, Buddy loved playing, coaching, and umpiring baseball. His greatest love, however, was for his family. He was proud of his roots and even more proud of his children. James Ray is survived by his wife, Tracey Stalls Jacobs; three daughters, Ashley Nichole Jacobs, Jennifer Renee Jacobs, and Amanda Rae Jacobs; two sisters, Jaqueline Linhardt and husband, Ken Littleton, Sherry Sampson and husband, Tom; four grandchildren, Gabriella Poul, George Poul, Penelope Poul and Wayne Hoover, as well as four nephews, and many cousins. All of which he loved and cherished. The funeral will be held at Graham Funeral Home, Chesapeake, on Monday October 26, 2020 at 12:00 pm with Rev. Bert Kirk and Rev. Ken Littleton officiating. The family will receive friends between 10:00 am and 12:00 pm immediately before the service. A graveside service in Rowland, NC will be held on October 28, 2020 at 10:00 am.
