Carroll C. Freeman – Kingsport, TN Carroll Clark Freeman, 83, Kingsport, TN passed away, Sunday, September 10, 2017 at home. Carroll was born in Scott County, VA on November 2, 1933 and was the son of the late Andrew and Hattie Freeman. He was a graduate of Rye Cove Memorial High School and served two years in the United States Army. He retired from Eastman Kodak after 36 years of service. In addition to his parents, his sisters, Sallie Carter, Mae Carter, and Lovely Carter; and brothers, Jack Freeman, Joe Freeman, and Charlie Freeman preceded him in death. He leaves behind his wife of 58 years, Phyllis; daughters, Janelle Houser and husband, Rick, Birmingham, AL and Michelle Cartee and husband, Buddy, Spartanburg, SC; four grandchildren, Ben Houser and wife, Rachel, Marilyn Roman and husband, Victor, Justin Houser and wife, Kourtney, and Pete Cartee and wife, Dena; great grandchildren, Brayden, Jack, Caleb, Roslyn, Amelia, Gemma, Zayda; along with several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., Thursday, September 14, 2017 at Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p. m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel with Rev. George Gibson officiating. The Salyers Family will provide the music. Burial will follow the service at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
