Shirley Josephine “Jo” Morrison Josephine “Jo” Morrison passed away on Friday, September 20, 2019 at Ridgecrest Manor in Duffield, VA. Jo was born in Scott County, VA on April 13, 1935 in the Daniel Boone Community to the late William and Minnie Williams. Jo worked for many years as an in-home caregiver for various people. She was also an excellent cook and housekeeper. Jo loved all animals – especially her cats. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her stepfather, Sam Wininger; sisters, Lou Ellen Moore, Rita Jean Keegan, Ruby Blessing, Dora Stokes, Lillian Baxter and Ann Bowen; and brother, Ray Williams. Josephine is survived by her husband of 55 years, William Morrison; her sister, Mary Alice Willis of Charlotte, NC; two sisters-in-law, Nancy Shelton of Gate City, VA and Rosa Lee Queen of Nickelsville; special niece, Wanda Foster and husband, Shannon; along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The family will receive friends from 11:00a.m.-1:00p.m., Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. Samuel Newland officiating. Music will be provided by Wendy Acker. Burial will follow the service Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at the Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA. Family and Friends will serve as pallbearers.
