James Archie “Jim” Talbott, age 75 of Grundy, Virginia passed away on Friday, August 16, 2019 at his home.
Born June 18, 1944, in Roseann, Virginia, he was the son of the late Edgar Talbott Sr., and Fleta Lucille Thornton. He was an electician and Preparation Plant Superintendent for Knox Creek and United Coal Companies. James is a veteran having served in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Ozark. He also attended Tri-State Technical College at Angola, Indiana, where he played basketball for two years. Jim was an avid bird hunter, had two faithful English setters, enjoyed nature, fishing, rough housing with his grandsons, and had true a passion for waterskiing. He was a past Elder and member of Buchanan Presbyterian Church. He was a wonderful friend, devoted father, loving husband, and phenomenal grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Brenda Carol Talbott.

Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for James “Jim” Talbott will be held on Monday, August 19, 2019, 2:00 P.M. at the Buchanan First Presbyterian Church, Grundy, Virginia with Ryan Willey officiating. Burial will follow at Mountain Valley Memorial Park, Big Rock, Virginia.
The family will receive friends Sunday evening 6:00 P.M. at the Buchanan First Presbyterian Church.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Family and Friends.
Military graveside rites will be conducted at the cemetery by John Ratliff Post 164 of the American Legion and VFW post 7360.
