Haysi, VA – Bonnie Deel, age 77, of Greenbrier, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 21, 2021.She was born to the late Dona & Dessal Hill of Dickenson County. She was a loving wife and mother who was of the Christian faith. She was baptized May 2, 1982 and has been a member of the Pound River Church of the Brethren for more than 30 years. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Bonnie had a heart of gold. She loved everyone and she was always willing to listen or help anyone with anything they needed. She loved being part of the church with her Christian brothers and sisters. She enjoyed working in her flower gardens, cooking for her family, making quilts and watching her favorite TV show “Days of Our Lives”. Bonnie married the love of her life, the late Harold Deel on January 29, 1961. Together they had 4 wonderful children: Ronnie, Dean, Kevin and Melissa. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband Harold Deel. Her brothers Fon Hill, Leonard Hill and sister Lean Hill. Bonnie is survived by her sons Ronnie (Alice) Deel of Haysi, Virginia; Dean (Julie) Deel of Hollister, Florida; Kevin (LeAnne) Deel of Pound, Virginia; her daughter Melissa Deel of Haysi, Virginia, 11 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren whom she adored. She is also survived by her sisters Barbara Deel of Haysi, Virginia and Evon Hale of Haysi, Virginia. The funeral service will be held on January 26, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. at Haysi Funeral Home, VA with Elder Eddie Newsome and Elder David Oquinn officiating. The family will receive friends after 6:00 p.m. A graveside service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 27, 2021 in the Bart Deel Cemetery, Greenbrier. Family will serve as pallbearers.
