FRANKLIN DELANO O’QUIN
Bee, VA- Franklin Delano O’quin, age 83 of Sandlick Road, passed away Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, VA. Born in Dickenson County, he was a son of the late Barney and Vicey Deel O’quin. He was a lumber grader for Clinchfield and retired from Virginia Department of Transportation working 23 years as a crew leader. He was of the Primitive Baptist faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Walter and wife Vernie O’quin, Dewey and wife Bethel O’quin, Roy and wife Estel O’quin and Troy and wife Ellen O’quin and sisters, Ida Deel and husband Roy and Edith O’quin.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Georgia O’quin, a son, Gary O’quin and wife, Pauline and a daughter, Regina Hill and husband, Conrad both of Bee, grandchildren, Ashley Lawson and husband, Zac of Wise, Adam Hill of Bee and a great-grandchild, Seth Jacob Lawson.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 2, 2017 at Haysi Funeral Home with Elders Jim Duty, Garnell Gilbert and Barrett McGlothlin officiating. Burial will follow in Duty Cemetery, Bee, VA. Pallbearers will be Adam Hill, Zac Lawson, Jeff Tiller, Keith O’quin, Derrick Ray, Craig Tiller, Brandon Farmer, Rick Owens and Mick Owens. Honorary pallbearers will be nephews and brothers-in-law.
