Harriet Owens

Davenport, VA – Lois Harriet Owens, age 85, passed away peacefully at her home following an extended illness on Friday, August 2, 2019. She was born on August 18, 1933, in Buchanan County, a daughter of the late Harmon and Edna Looney Breeding. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harlis Owens, a sister, Joy Breeding Brown, and two brothers-in-law, Buster Compton and M.C. Owens Survivors include a son, Terry (Patti) Owens of Magnolia Springs, AL, a daughter, Jane (Jervie) Rasnake of Davenport, grandchildren, Rebekah Sullivan (Ronald) of Davenport and Trevor Owens of Magnolia Springs, great-grandchildren; Lucas Sullivan, Xander Owens, and Rosi Owens, two sisters, Annette Compton of Noakesville, VA and Scarlett (John) Breeding-Alt of Annapolis, MD, two brothers, Ransome (Anna) Breeding of Council, VA and Benny (Charlotte) Breeding of Christiansburg, VA, four nieces and four nephews, and special caregivers who became like family; Rachel, Denise, Nichole, Deidra, Mariah, and Telia. Graveside services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 5, 2019 at the Owens Family Cemetery, Davenport with Edward Tiller and James Tiller officiating.
