Obituary for Lesley Anne Randall

Lesley Anne Randall, 36, unexpectedly passed away at home on June 8, 2016. She was the dearly loved daughter of Linda M. Randall of Reston, VA, and Harlan C. Randall of Mesa, AZ. Lesley was born on December 31, 1979, in Reno, Nevada. Because Lesley was a New Year’s Eve baby, her birthday was always a day of revelry and celebration for people everywhere which she enjoyed and embraced.

Blessed with a cheerful and happy disposition, Lesley was a young woman who exuded warm affection for friends and family and great goodwill in the world. She had a lively and well-developed sense of humor, loved to laugh, and was quick to say yes to any and all the adventures that life offered her.

When circumstances allowed she enthusiastically traveled with her flight attendant mother, embarked on a road trip or two to visit her dad, spent fun-filled days and weeks with various relatives, and shared good times with friends.

Unsure of what path she should pursue in life, she found her niche first in the work-a-day world beginning with retail and subsequently in various accounting and office management positions where her competency, efficiency and solid work ethic made her a valuable and highly-regarded employee. In recent years she had quietly begun to pursue advanced academic studies, had completed online classes to earn an Associate of Science Degree with a major in Social Sciences/Psychology from Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA). She had just started attending George Mason University to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology.

Lesley was predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Irene and Harvey Malone of Lincoln, Nebraska, and her paternal grandparents, Harlan and Evelyn Randall of Crownsville, Maryland. She is survived by her parents, four aunts, Sandra Malone, Winston-Salem, NC; Ramona Randall, Montreal, Canada; Judith Lew, Littleton, CO; Marilyn Rowland and her uncle Ted Rowland, Ithaca, NY. Lesley also is survived by many cousins along with close friends and past co-workers.

With an effervescent spirit of brightness and grace, Lesley shared her love, joy and boundless enthusiasm for life with the world, and then left too soon. She will be greatly and forever missed by those who knew and loved her. Willow and Westley, the family cats, already miss her presence in their lives.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Unity of Fairfax Church in Oakton, VA, on Saturday, June 25, at 3 PM.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that in memory of her, you honor Lesley’s life long love of her pets and her connection to animals by making a donation to your favorite animal shelter or charity.
