Brenda Tiller

Brenda Ann Tiller, age 61, of Swords Creek, Virginia passed away Friday (July 21, 2017) in an Abingdon, Virginia hospital. Born July 29, 1955 in Richlands, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Ruley and Betty Jean Dye Mickles. A lifelong resident of the area, she attended Word of Victory Fellowship at Elk Garden, Virginia. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ernie Tiller; two sisters, Donna Mickles and Helen Mickles and her maternal and paternal grandparents. Survivors include one daughter, Shannon Marie Hurt and husband, Roy “Bo” of Swords Creek; granddaughter, Courtney Nicole Hurt; grandson, Christopher Eugene Hurt; two great-granddaughters, Brooklyn and Zaylynn Hurt; four sisters, Sue Whited, Barbara Taylor, Rita Mickles and Lisa Vestal and husband, Paul; one brother, Danny “Dick” Mickles and wife, Sue; very special friend, Christina Justus; special companion, Steve McDaniel; God-Daughter, La’Whitley Whited and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 PM Tuesday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Robert Tiller and Rev. James Tiller officiating. Interment will follow. The family will receive friends from Noon until 2 PM. Relatives and friends will serve as pallbearers.
