Mr. Harvey “Buddy” Endicott, age 74, of Raven, Virginia, passed away Friday (April 28, 2017) at his home. Born January 15, 1943 in Mallard, West Virginia, he was a son of the late Harve and Sylvia Stiltner Endicott. A resident of Tazewell county for thirty years, he was a retired coal miner, having been employed by Island Creek Coal Company. Upon his retirement, he enjoyed spending time riding his motorcycle. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one step-daughter, Doris Sanders, step-granddaughter, Ashley Taylor, one brother, Paul Endicott, one sister, Lavada Howell, half-brother, Bobby Mars, and half-sister, Juanita Mars. In his generation, he was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Survivors include his wife, Ruth Endicott of Tazewell, Virginia; one son, Harvey Endicott, III of Richlands; three daughters, Deborah Hicks, Sylvia Jean Wright, and Sabrina Endicott all of Richlands; five step-daughters, Patricia Meadows and husband, Roger of Tazewell, Aleta Rasnake and husband, Howard of Davenport, Kay Artrip and husband, Monroe of Lebanon, Kim Adhikusuma and husband, Niki of Stephen City, Virginia, and Chantay Davidson and husband, Gerald of Council; his special dog, Black Jack; several grandchildren, step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, step-great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Monday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Virginia with Rev. Kyle Ratliff and Rev. Charlie McGlothlin officiating. Interment will follow in the Fletcher Cemetery at Council, Virginia. Pallbearers will be Gerald Davidson, William Rasnake, Roger Meadows, Jr., Monroe Artrip, Douglas Meadows, Brent Compton, Adam Ratliff, and Justin Rasnake. Honorary pallbearers will Howard Rasnake, Roger Meadows, and Timmy Rasnake. The family will receive friends at the Honaker Funeral Home after 6:00 PM Sunday.
