Kathy Harris

Mrs. Kathy Sue Harris, age 58, of the Green Acres section of Honaker, Virginia passed away Thursday (June 9, 2011) at a Richlands, Virginia hospital. Born November 17, 1952 in Russell County, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Tom Everett and Edna Mae Stump Ray. A lifelong resident of the area, she was a member of Word of Victory Fellowship at Elk Garden. She was formerly employed as a CNA for Cumberland Mountain Community Services. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Carlos Henry Ray and one brother-in-law, Ray Horn. Survivors include her husband of thirty-eight years, Richard Harris of the home; one daughter, Joetta Patrick and husband, Jeff of Honaker; one son, Ricky Allen Harris and wife, Lisa of Belfast; three grandchildren, Jessica Nicole McGraw and Jonathan Tank McGraw both of Honaker and Jordan Harris of Belfast; one step-granddaughter, Kirsten Sparks of Belfast; two sisters, Elizabeth Ray of Honaker and Shirley Street and husband, Donald of Cleveland; one sister-in-law, Maggie Ray of Lebanon and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 7 PM Friday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rod Wicker and Rev. Troy Street officiating. Graveside services will be conducted at 11 AM Saturday in the Musick Cemetery at Honaker. Interment will follow. Those wishing to attend the graveside services are asked to assemble at the Honaker Funeral Home by 10:30 AM to travel in a funeral procession. Pallbearers will be Gary Street, Jerry Street, Josh Dye, Cody Dye, Adam Ray, Jonathan McGraw, Derick Whitt and Phillip Whitt Friends may call at the Honaker Funeral Home after 6 PM Friday.
