Mrs. Lucille McGlothlin Cook, age 88, of the Big A Mountain section of Honaker, Virginia, passed away Thursday (March 16, 2017) in Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon, Virginia. Born October 17, 1928 in Russell County, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Mont and Edna Hart McGlothlin. A dedicated Christian, she attended Bethany Baptist Church and enjoyed many years as a member of Finney Senior Citizens. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and a friend to all. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters. Survivors include her loving husband of sixty-eight years, Millard Cook of the home; one son, Lannie Cook and wife, June of Cleveland; two daughters, Linda Dye and Danna Wells both of Honaker; four grandsons, Byron, Benjamin, Justin, and Chad; one granddaughter, Tracy; eight great-grandchildren, Eli, Ayden, Tyler, Dylan, Gavin, Mercedez, Samantha, and Benleigh; one sister, Myrle Stevens; and a host of nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 8:00 PM Saturday at Bethany Baptist Church, 7523 Finney Road, Honaker, Virginia with Rev. Vonley Pruitt and Rev. Larry Burton officiating. Graveside services will be conducted at 12 Noon Sunday at Forest Hills Memory Gardens in Abingdon, Virginia with Rev. Larry Burton and Rev. Phillip Cook officiating. Those wishing to attend the service are asked to assemble at the Honaker Funeral Home to leave in procession at 11:00 AM. Pallbearers will be Freddie Puckett, Memphis McGlothlin, Larry McGlothlin, Ricky Murphy, Wayne Stevens, Dewey Cook, Wayne Cook, Larry Cook and Phillip Cook.
