Margaret Dye

Mrs. Margaret Elizabeth Peck Dye, age 70, of Honaker, Virginia, passed away Thursday (October 5, 2017) following a long courageous battle with cancer. Born April 24, 1947 in Buchanan County, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Charlie Robert and Leonia Shepard Peck. A lifelong resident of the area, she attended Mount Zion Freewill Baptist Church on Big A Mountain. She had formerly been employed as a seamstress at several of the area sewing factories and had also worked at Lear. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Dempsey Carl Dye, her second husband, Steve Jackson, and three siblings, Betty Mays, Bill Peck, and Deborah Clark. Survivors include two daughters, Jennifer Dye Nuckles and husband, Brad of Lebanon and Freda Dye Yates and husband, Kirby of Honaker; seven grandchildren, Brandon Nuckles and fiancée, Katie Hankins, Lexi Nuckles, Isaac Nuckles, Josie Yates Rose and husband, Samuel, Carly Yates, Christy Yates, and Jacob Yates; three sisters, Jean Penley, Kathy Fuller, and Sue Dye and husband, Bill; two brothers, Junior Peck and wife, Phyllis and Greg Peck and Kim; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Sunday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Virginia with Rev. Virgil Musick and Rev. Jeff Kinder officiating. Interment will follow in the Street Cemetery at Rowe, Virginia. Relatives and friends will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the Honaker Funeral Home after 6:00 PM Saturday.
