Basil “Bill” Andrew Spage, 78, of Montross, passed away Saturday, July 18, 2015. Bill was a Ruling Elder at the Tappahannock Presbyterian Church, who enjoyed politics, reading, cooking, fishing, gardening and being outdoors. He served 20 years in the US Navy and is a veteran of the Vietnam War. In the Navy, Bill was awarded the Navy Commendation Medal and the Meritorious Service medal. Bill was a wonderful husband and father and took great care of his family. Bill is survived by his wife, Susan Ione Spage; children, Helene Crowfoot (Paul), Andrew Spage (Laura) and David Spage (fiancé Nicole); sister, Helen Trentadue (Victor); and grandchildren, Melissa Riley, Olivia Spage, Benjamin Crowfoot, Wyatt Spage, Natalie Spage and Michael Spage. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 22, 2015 at Tappahannock Presbyterian Church, 204 Kino Road, Tappahannock, VA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Virginia or Tappahannock Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund.
