Mr. Bernard Allison Brooks, age 86 of Dundas, died Wednesday, January 2, 2019. He is survived by his wife Evelyn M. Brooks; children, Bernard Allison “Al” Brooks, Jr (Melissa) of Kenbridge, Curtis Brooks (Nikki) of Benson, NC Beverly Poythress (Nelson) of Branchville, VA and Carolyn Keyes (Daryl) of Roanoke, VA. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Bryant Rifkind, Jake Rifkind, Joseph Brooks, Alexander Keyes, Sidney Keyes, and Trevor Brooks; one great grandchild, Trista Rifkind and a sister, Lucy Gwaltney. Mr. Brooks was preceded in death by his sister, Anna Ruth Greene and grandson, Jeremy Rifkind.<br><br>Mr. Brooks was a lifelong farmer of Lunenburg County, a veteran of the US Army, a member of Perseverance Christian Church, and a member of the Dundas Ruritan Club.<br><br>Funeral services will be conducted at 2pm, Friday, January 4, 2019 at Farrar Funeral Home with interment to follow at Crestview Memorial Park, LaCrosse, VA. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 5-7 at the funeral home. Memorial considerations may be directed in his memory to Alzheimer’s Association, Southeastern VA Chapter, 6350 Center Drive., STE 102, Norfolk, VA 23502. Mr. Bernard Allison Brooks, age 86 of Dundas, died Wednesday, January 2, 2019. He is survived by his wife Evelyn M.
