Clara D. Arend, age 102, of South Hill died Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at her residence. She is survived by her daughter, Andrea C Shaw of Kenbridge, and two sons, Anthony C. Arend of Los Angeles CA and Allen G. Arend of Chandler TX. Also surviving are 4 grand children, 1 step grandchild, and 7 great grandchildren. A celebration of life service will be conducted at 4pm Saturday, November 23 at St Paul's Lutheran Church in Norlina, NC.Interment will be private. Memorial consideration may be directed to the Susan G. Komen Foundation, 1433 Johnston Willis Drive, Richmond, VA 23235. Farrar Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
