Mrs. Dorothy Ann Spence Baird Lacks, age 86 of Brodnax, died Monday Oct. 11, 2010. She is survived by a son Ronald Wilkins Baird, Sr. of Brodnax, two brothers, Willie J. Spence and Clifton Spence both of Brodnax, three sisters, Mary King of Williamsburg, Barbara Gayle McElroy and Lucy Bracey both of Brodnax. Also surviving are 7 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Mrs. Lacks was preceded in death by her husbands, Rufus Baird and Walter David Scott Lacks, and a daughter, Bernice Ann Baird. A funeral service will be conducted at 1pm Thursday October 14 at Farrar Funeral Chapel with interment to follow in Canaan Cemetery.
