Frances Warren

Frances Louise Warren, age 94, of South Hill died Friday, August 31, 2012. She was the daughter of the late Samuel McCargo and Bessie Edmonson Warren. Frances was a graduate of Madison College and taught school for a number of years. She was a member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church and a member of D.A.R., Prestwould Chapter. Frances touched many lives with her compassion and generous heart. Her memory will forever be alive in the minds and hearts of all who knew her. Ms. Warren is survived by two nieces, Harriette Warren Newsom (Dave) of Lawrenceville, VA and Mary Letha Warren Jelinek (Ed) of Topsfield, MA; three great nieces, Anne Warren Newsom Sardelis, Mary Elizabeth Jelinek and Emily Warren Jelinek; a great nephew, Frank Newsom and a God Child, Alma Warren Showalter (Rob) and her children, Robert Carroll Showalter, III and William Warren Showalter. Ms. Warren was preceded in death by two brothers, James Edmonson Warren and Joseph Henry Warren. A funeral service will be conducted Monday, September 3, 2012, at 11 AM in Tabernacle Baptist Church by Rev. Tim Irving and Rev. Kent Wise. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6 to 7:30 at Farrar Funeral Home. Memorial considerations may be made to Tabernacle Baptist Church Cemetery Fund or Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund.
