Mrs. Helen Newman Farrar, age 97 of Baskerville, died Wednesday, October 8, 2014. She was the widow of Joe Dowling Farrar, Sr. and is survived by her sons, Wylie H. Farrar of Baskerville and Joe D. “Buddy” Farrar (Betty) of Kenbridge. Also surviving are 5 grandchildren, Wylile H."Buck" Farrar Jr., Helen Elizabeth “Beth" Farrar-Clary, John Kelly Farrar, Joe Dowling Farrar, III & Jeff Jeffress; 6 great- grandchildren, and a very special niece (daughter) Katherine W. Proffitt. Mrs. Farrar was a member of Bethany Baptist Church where she served as a Deacon, a Sunday School Teacher, Chairman of WMU and also a member of the Eastern Star. A graveside funeral service will be conducted by Rev. Ronnie Campbell at 11am Saturday October 11th at Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery.
