Percy Bates
Percy Dillard Bates, age 75, died Monday, June 4, 2011 in Community Memorial Healthcenter. He was a retired carpenter and was a U.S. Air Force veteran. Mr. Bates is survived by two daughters, Katherine A. Wood of Amelia and Nancy C. Palmer of Franklinton, NC; two sons, Kenneth S. Bates of Amelia and Charles E. Bates of Nottoway. Also surviving are four sisters, Frances Parrish of Blackstone, Annie Elizabeth West of Waverly, Isabelle Culton of Chesterfield, Ollie Arrington of Burkeville; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren. A memorial service will be conducted Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Eggleston St., Amelia, VA.June 14, 1936 - June 4, 201206/14/193606/04/2012
