Mrs. Salene Newman Clark, age 74 of Baskerville, died Sunday, February 13, 2011. She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Clark Pearce (Randy) of South Hill; six grandchildren, Angela Broglin (Danny), Tammy Wright (Sean), Travis Clark, Tiffany Clark, Keith Pearce, Caitlin Crowder (Ben); and one great-granddaughter, Kinsley Crowder. Also surviving are two sisters, Mary N. Wells of Baskerville, Sarah N Whitlock of Garner, NC and sister-in-law & special friend, Pat Newman. Mrs. Clark was preceded in death by two sons, Ronald Eugene Clark and Randall Louis Clark; three brothers, C W Newman, Stuart O Newman and Weldon Newman; and one sister, Shirley Ratliffe. Mrs. Clark was a member of Bethany Baptist Church where she participated in the WMU. She was retired from the Dept of Corrections. A celebration of life service will be conducted at 11am, Wednesday, Feb 16 at Bethany Baptist Church where interment will follow in the church cemetery.
