Mr. William Henry "TBo" Crowder, age 81, of South Hill, passed away Friday, November 5, 2010. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Doris Parrott Crowder; two sons, Jerry L and wife Vicki; william R "Bill" and wife Karen; six grandchildren, Michelle Allen and husband Bland, Jason Crowder and wife Shannon, Ashley Leslie and husband Vick, Justin Crowder, Taylor Crowder and fiancee Chip Parrish, and William Crowder, Jr.; four great-grandchildren, Ashley and Lindsey and Keaton and Kimball Crowder; two brothers, Charles and Samuel. He was predeceased by his parents James A and Sarah Jane Roberts Crowder, sisters Elizabeth Hudson, Virginia Napier, and Ruth Wilson; and brothers, James, Douglas and Harvey Drew.
Mr. Crowder retired in 1991 after 31 years with Burlington Industries/BGF. He served in the United States Army and was a lifetime member of Southside Rescue Squad and the American Legion Post 79. He was a member and trustee of Ephesus Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, chairman of deacons and was named deacon emeritus.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11am Monday, November 8, 2010 at Farrar Funeral Chapel with interment to follow in Ephesus Baptist Church Cemetery. A reception for family and friends will follow in the church fellowship hall after the service. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6:30 - 8:00 at the funeral home.
