Leanna Yeatman Obituary

Leanna Marian Christopher Yeatman, 78, of Warsaw passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2020, with her loving family by her side. She was a retired bookkeeper for her family company, W.M. Yeatman Builders, a seasonal tax preparer at Hughes and Associates, and a member of Menokin Baptist Church. A lifelong resident of the Northern Neck, Leanna was born in Lancaster County to James Albert Christopher and Catherine Rettaliata Christopher. She spent her adult life in Warsaw, Virginia, where she and her beloved husband of sixty years, Warren Mathew “Woody” Yeatman, Sr., made their home, raised their family, and grew their business. Leanna is survived by her husband Woody and their four children: Bonnie Y. Morris (Jackie), Beth Y. France (Nathan), W. Mathew Yeatman, Jr. (Brandi), and Amy Y. Kercsmar (Chris). She was proudly called Nana by her eight cherished grandchildren: Jackson Morris, LeighAnna Morris, Christopher France, Connor France, Hunter Yeatman, Evan Yeatman, Cassidy Kercsmar, and Jessica Kercsmar. Also surviving is her brother J.A. Christopher (Sandra), her sisters-in-law Marietta Yeatman and Karen Jenkins (Doug), and numerous dear nieces, nephews, neighbors, and friends. She was predeceased by her parents and her brother-in-law Bobby Yeatman. Leanna will be remembered for her love of family and dedication to her church. Her children and grandchildren will cherish memories of their annual family trips to Nags Head as well as weekly Sunday dinners where all were welcome at her table. Her commitment to Menokin and to her faith were evident every day of her life. Throughout the years she served in various capacities as church treasurer, clerk, choir member, and trustee. One of her greatest joys was helping with the special services of the church and directing the Christmas plays. The love, grace, and support she extended to her family, church family, and friends are her lasting legacy. A memorial service to celebrate Leanna’s life will be held on Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at Menokin Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m. The Reverend Dr. Jason Patrick will officiate. A reception will follow the service in the fellowship hall of the church. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that you honor your memory of Leanna by making memorial contributions in her name to the Menokin Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 1135, Warsaw, VA 22572.
