James W. Oliver, Jr., 73, of Winchester, died Friday, May 19, 2017, at his home. Mr. Oliver was born December 6, 1943, in Appalachia, VA; the son of James William Oliver and Cora David Oliver. He served in the U.S. Army. He retired as a Dispatcher with Howard Shockey and Sons. He is survived by Connie Barrett; a son, Ronald Barrett, II (Beth Dodson); a brother, Brian Oliver (Brenda) of Fredericksburg, VA; a sister, Brenda Boggs of Rutledge, TN; a sister in law, Debra Oliver of Morristown, TN; and three grandchildren, Kaytlyn Barrett, Cameron Barrett and Ronald Barrett, III. He was preceded in death by a brother, Joel E. Oliver and a sister, Rosalie Case. Services will be private.
