Alma Sue “Susan” Wolfenbarger, 68, a resident of the Harbor for 13 years, died at her home in Aberdeen, Monday, July 8, 2013. Susan was born in Great Falls, MT, September 15, 1944, the daughter of Thomas and Lotus (Haynes) McLeod and was raised in Bellevue, WA. She graduated from Bellevue High School in 1962 and had attended community college. Susan worked in accounting and bookkeeping and had worked for the King County District Court in Federal Way and City Hall in Steilacoom. She married William J. “Bill” Wolfenbarger in Bellevue on September 28, 1974 and they lived in King County before going to San Jose in 1979, where she worked as a comptroller for two local SRO-owned radio stations. After returning to Seattle in 1980, she worked for SRO as internal auditor in the Bellevue office. She had also worked at Key Bank in downtown Tacoma. Susan and Bill came to the Harbor in 2000 shortly after Bill purchased the radio stations in Raymond and Aberdeen. Susan had been a member of the Soroptomist Club in Bellevue and had also enjoyed gardening, cooking and oil painting. Besides her husband, Bill, Susan is survived by her mother: Lotus McLeod, Bellevue; 1 daughter: Sharyn Wolfenbarger, Aberdeen, 2 step-daughters: JoDeana and husband Rick Jones and Deborah and husband Clint Wolfenbarger-Jones, all of Lynnwood, WA; 2 sisters: Kimberly and husband Dan Hard and Melinda and husband Mike McGuire, all of Seattle; and also three grandchildren and five great grandchildren. A brother, Thomas McLeod and a sister, Sharon McLeod preceded her in death. A celebration of Sue's life will be held for family and friends at the Hoquiam Polson Museum, 1611 Riverside Ave, Hoquiam at 2 PM.
