Charity Lisherness

Charity “Ched” Lorraine Lisherness Charity Lorraine Lisherness passed away and was called Home to the Lord on Saturday, July 18, 2015 from complications of an accident during the Wilkeson National Handcar Races in Wilkeson, Washington. She was 47 years of age and resided in Aberdeen, Washington. Charity was born September 17, 1967 in Bellevue, Washington to parents Rev. Gery A. West and Carmen G. West. Charity grew up in the Pacific Northwest and graduated from Lake Quinault High School. She lived in Lake Quinault until the age of 7, and then moved to St. Maries, Idaho where her dad started a church. At the age of 13, Charity lived in Rogue River, Oregon and then in Central Point, Oregon until the age of 15. In high school, she was involved in choir and jazz choir ensemble. She ran cross-country for Crater High School in Central Point, Oregon. At the age of 16, her family returned to Lake Quinault where she completed High School and ran track and played basketball for Lake Quinault High School. It was here where she met her best friend and love of her life, Dennis Lisherness. On June 18, 1988, Dennis and Charity were married. On November 22, 1994 they were blessed with their daughter, Lunden. Lunden was always Charity’s greatest joy and true love. Charity loved running and competing in extreme races and lived for hunting and other outdoor sports. She competed in the Boston Marathon twice and several Ultras, which are 30.07 miles. She loved Christmas and going to hunting camp in Oregon with her family. Charity was very involved in her community and was active with the Homeless Youth Education Fund. It was also very important to Charity that any youth who wanted to attend Church camp would have the opportunity to go. Charity provided countless scholarships for those who could not afford it, ensuring that they too would experience a relationship with Jesus. Charity graduated from Body Mechanics School of Myotherapy and Massage in Olympia, Washington and was a Licensed Massage Practitioner who enjoyed most the teaching of other practitioners to help them further develop their skill and technique. She owned Proactive Massage and Sports Therapy in both Cosmopolis and Aberdeen. Those who know Charity best know she was not afraid to speak her mind if she disagreed with a life choice, but they also knew she would be their biggest champion when attempting to make healthier choices. Charity also loved the Lord with all her heart and encouraged so many throughout her life. Charity loved her family and friends deeply; her daughter Lunden and husband Dennis were her greatest loves. She was an active member of River of Life Church in Aberdeen for many years, and most recently Calvary Chapel of Montesano. Charity is survived by her husband, Dennis Lisherness of Aberdeen, her daughter, Lunden Lisherness of Aberdeen, her parents, Rev. Gery and Carmen West of Lake Quinault, her sisters, Sharon “Candy” Calloway of Lake Quinault, Cameo R. Lorton of Lake Quinault, Coral West Cornelius of Lake Quinault, and her brother, Gerimy “Ged” West of Elma. A Memorial Service will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, August 1st at the Miller Junior High Track, with a Celebration of her Life immediately following at the River of Life Church.
