Dwain Douglas Kelly, 87, a Grays Harbor native, died November 28, 2013, surrounded by his loving family. Dwain was born in Elma, August 14, 1926, and grew up on a family farm out along the Cloquallum River. He was preceeded in death by his parents Douglas and Leatha (Hughs) Kelly, brother Orville, wife of 46 years Louella (Woods), and wife of ten years Dona Lou (Taylor). Dwain graduated from Elma High School and Grays Harbor Business College. After serving as a Merchant Seaman, he returned to the Harbor, beginning a four decade career with Grays Harbor PUD in 1949, eventually retiring as Chief Accountant and Auditor. He loved woodworking, gardening, and spending time at his Lake Nahwatzel summer home. He lived by the advice he gave, “Always put family first.” Dad, you will be deeply missed. Dwain is survived by two daughters: Marta (Steve) Allen, Sequim and Tonni (George) Johnston, Olympia; five grandchildren: Amber (Matt) Geiger, Elizabeth Allen, Bryan, Brett and Geoffrey Johnston; two great grandchildren: Emma and Chloe Geiger; and a dear friend: Christine Boardman, Central Park. Inurnment will take place in Fern Hill Cemetery, Aberdeen. There will be no formal services. The family suggests memorials may be made to PAWS, P.O. Box 451, Aberdeen, WA 98520, or your favorite charity.
