Francis Moses

Francis G. Moses, Sr., 94, a 90 year resident of Grays Harbor, died at Grays Harbor Health and Rehabilitation Center, Aberdeen, Saturday, June 18, 2016. He was born November 16, 1921 in Marquette, MI, the son of Frank and Marie (Wilen) Moses. Francis’s family settled in the Wishkah Valley when he was 4 years old. He was in the National Guard in his senior year where he graduated in 1940 from Weatherwax High School. Upon graduation he joined the Army and served as an MP During World War II. After his Army service attended and received a certificate in carpentry from the J. M. Perry Institute, a technical school in Yakima. Francis worked for ITT Rayonier as a bailer operator until he retired in 1984. During the War he met Dorothy L. Aguilar and they were married in Stockton, CA on January 22, 1944 and she survives him at the family home in Aberdeen. Francis loved wood working and cabinet building, and working in the yard. He and Dorothy traveled extensively. He is survived at the family home by his wife of 72 years, Dorothy, and two sons: Frank, Jr. and wife Dorie Moses, Wishkah Valley; Charles and wife Judy Moses, Elma, and; three grandchildren: Jesse, Alicia and Dion Moses; and four great grandchildren: Matthew, Jacob, Zachary and Lillie Moses. A private family graveside service was held in Fern Hill Cemetery, Aberdeen The family suggests memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1313 Broadway, No. 100, Tacoma, WA 98402 or the American Heart Association, Donation Processing Center, File 30947, P.O.
