Harriet Thornburg

Harriet Rosetta Thornburg 91, passed into the arms of her Lord on December 16, 2019 at Panorama City Convalescent Center, Lacey, WA. She was born July 8, 1928 in Leon, Iowa, the daughter of Floyd and Vira Wagoner. She married the love of her life, Tom, December 8, 1947 in Colfax, WA and spent many happy years with him. Harriet was a beautiful Christian woman with a sweet nature – cheerful, kind, loving and a heart of gold. Her life was one of service, to her lord and family. She cared for her mother for many years; then her husband of nearly 50 years as his held failed. Harriet was a joyful person who enjoyed many years of service, worship and friendships at Emmanuel Bible Fellowship, Olympia. She loved her family unconditionally. She loved to laugh, was a “social butterfly” and in her later years had a smile and kind word for everyone at Olympics West Retirement Inn where she was happy and had come to call “home”. She became frail and had many maladies later in life that could have made her a bitter person, yet she chose joy and was thankful for every moment and remained positive every day. Harriet was predeceased by her parents and her brother and sister, Edwin Wagoner and Margaret Lewis; husband L. T. “Tom” Thornburg and a daughter, Julie Ann Musick. She leaves behind a daughter Mary (Israel) Mendoza and granddaughters, Tiffany and Carolina; the Musick family, son-in-law Terry, grandsons Andrew and Peter (Diedre), and great-grandchildren, Lily, Emma and Robert; as well as an extended family. Services will be held in the Spring. The family suggests memorials may be made in her memory to Emmanuel Bible Fellowship, Olympia. A card of condolence with a message or a memory may be sent to the family at www.fernhillfuneral.com Arrangements are entrusted to Twibell’s Fern Hill Funeral Home, Aberdeen.
