Jeremiah James Marsh, 31, Grayland resident and former Washington National Guardsman, Stafford Creek Correctional officer, Grayland Volunteer Firefighter, Fire Commissioner, and Defense Contractor died tragically, Saturday morning, February 18, 2012 in an automobile accident on SR 105 in Grayland. Jeremiah was born on April 8, 1980 in Olympia, WA to Michael and Martha Marsh. He grew up in the Olympia area and graduated form Tumwater High School in 1998 and was working on an Associates degree from Grays Harbor College. On August 10, 1999, Jeremiah married Jill Marie Carlson at the Schmidt Mansion in Tumwater, WA. Jeremiah worked for PKMM Inc. of Lacey, WA as a Defense Contractor for the last year in which he spent 4 months in Afghanistan. He also spent 8 years as a Correctional Officer at Stafford Creek and 10 ½ years with the Washington State Army National Guard. He was stationed in Kuwait in 04-05, Mosul, Iraq from 08-09. He was Honorably Discharged July 31st 2011 with the rank of E-5 (Sargent). Jeremiah was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church in Westport. He was a devoted Husband and father who always strived to do better for himself and his family. Jeremiah is survived by his wife of 12 years, Jill Marsh; three daughters, Naomi Celina, Alivia Rose and Evalyn Grace Marsh all of Grayland; his father, Michael Marsh of Shelton and his mother Martha Marsh of Grayland; three brothers, Ted and Josh Schaffer of Olympia and Kristopher Marsh of Shelton and a sister Amanda Marsh of Redding, CA. A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, March 10th at 1:00pm in St. Paul's Catholic Church, Westport. Donations for the family can be made at Security State Bank in Grayland. Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Fern Hill Funeral Home in Aberdeen.
