JoAnn Spellman Aberdeen, Washington Obituary

JoAnn Spellman

Death is not a final goodbye, but a precious new beginning of life. JoAnn Spellman left this world on August 8, 2013, to be with her first love, God, family and friends. My sister, Diane, and I are so very blessed to have so many memories and experiences with our mommy. Her granddaughter, Julie Arrington, gave Mom the name (Grandma Tom) that was adopted by everyone for her lifetime. When her granddaughter, Jasmine Godfrey, was asked about her special memory she spoke of all their wonderful and adventurous walks together. Justin Emmons, her grandson, shares his Grandma Tom’s passion for the beauty of the northwest. JoAnn has joined her grandson, Christopher Brooks, who left this world too early! She leaves behind six great-grandchildren, three sisters, a brother, nieces and nephews. Our mommy loved to walk, was a member of the Olympians, made awesome Spritz cookies and angel food cake. JoAnn loved working and volunteering at the doctor office in Aberdeen, with Dr. Gibbs and his wife, Leslie, and staff; they shared a wonderful friendship. She was an avid book reader and member of The Friends of the Aberdeen Timberland Library. She said her goodbyes to family and friends. We told her this isn’t goodbye (it’s see you later). Your loving daughter, Debbi Branford Jensen JoAnn wanted dedications and donations in her name to The Friends of the Aberdeen Timberland Library, c/o Jackie Henry, Treasurer; 518 W. 4th St., Aberdeen, WA 98520. A card of condolence with a message or memory may be sent to the family at www.fernhillfuneral.com Arrangements are entrusted to Fern Hill Funeral Home, Aberdeen.
