Karen Tessier

Karen Joyce Tessier, 59, a resident of Oakville, WA, died at her home, Thursday, June 20, 2013. She was born in North Adams, MA, July 17, 1953, the daughter of Charles and Doris (Fulton) Kozlowski. Karen graduated from Drury High School in Massachusettes and later after coming to Washington graduated with a degree in nursing from Centralia College. Karen had moved to Olympia in 1976 and then moved to Oakville. She had married Craig Tessier in 1977 and he survives her at their Oakville home. Karen was a very loving, caring and passionate woman. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and family, reading, writing and being outdoors. For work she had been a nurse at Riverside and Evergreen Convalescent Homes in Centralia. Besides her husband, Craig of Oakville, Karen is survived by a son: Josh, Seattle; a daughter: Connie Dunn, Olympia; three brothers: Mike Kozlowski, Odessa, TX, Peter Kozlowski, Toms River, NJ and Richard Kozlowski, Dayton, Tennessee; two sisters: Kim Nordstrom, Snohomish, WA and Susan Kinney, Cornish Flat, NH; and also three grandchildren: Aiden, Chloe and Jayden. At her request there will be no formal funeral services. The family suggests memorials may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905. A card of condolence with a message or memory may be sent to the family at www.fernhillfuneral.com Arrangements are entrusted to Fern Hill Funeral Home, Aberdeen.
