Marcia Discher

Marcia May Miller Discher was born in Aberdeen Washington, on March 8, 1940, one of 5 children born to Roland and Sarah (Wilkins) Miller of Westport. Marcia passed away at Grays Harbor Community Hospital on June 2, 2017. Marcia married Richard Discher and had four children. Ed (Josie) Discher, Sitka, Alaska; Shelly (Ken) McKinney, Lake Havasu, Arizona; Rickie Discher, Westport and Sally Ann Miller, Kent. She has numerous grand-children and great-grandchildren and loved spending time with them. She worked many different jobs including being a cook, a nurse’s aide, an apartment manager, and tour guide on a boat in Lake Havasu, AZ. She loved playing bingo and slots at the local casino’s and was an active member of R-Troop, a camping group made up of retired friends, and a member of the Westport-Grayland American Legion Post. Marcia was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, Richard Discher and Fred LaPointe, an older sister Florine Crocket of Aberdeen and a younger brother, James Miller of Aberdeen. In addition to her surviving children, she is survived by two brothers, Roland Miller of LaConner, Wa, and Bert Miller of Shelton, Wa. A private family gathering will be held this summer. They suggest memorials may be made to the Westport-Grayland American Legion Post, 211 E. Pacific Ave., Westport, WA 98595.
